Project Summary:

Beyondsolutions core team was part of the development team to develope GeoBase 3.0, a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) application for USAID in Kabul, Afghanistan. This project transformed GeoBase from a project activity tracking database into a powerful spatial information management system.

Background:

Previously, USAID utilized GeoBase as a Management Information System (MIS) to record and manage data on all their reconstruction and development activities in Afghanistan.

GeoBase 3.0 Enhancements:

  • Spatial Capabilities: The new version leveraged GIS functionalities to represent project data visually on maps, offering a more insightful way to explore and analyze project locations and distributions.
  • Enhanced Data Visualization: By integrating with ArcGIS Server 9.1, GeoBase 3.0 provided interactive maps and spatial visualizations, enabling users to gain a deeper understanding of USAID’s development efforts across Afghanistan.
